Source available
Read every line. Run it anywhere.
The edge, the control panel, the rules and the gym are one codebase, published under the Elastic License 2.0. Run it on your own servers, change it, and keep your traffic data to yourself.
The licence in plain English
You can
- Run it for your own sites and your company's, free up to 10 domains
- Read, change and redistribute the code
- Write add-ons and give them away or sell them
You can't
- Offer NiceTryBot to others as a hosted service
- Remove or get around licence keys
- Strip out the licence and copyright notices
That's why it's called source-available rather than open source: the code is public, with those three limits.
Where it will run
Any Ubuntu server
A one-line installer. Every other target reuses it.
Docker Compose
Edge, app, worker, Postgres, Valkey and Vector in one stack.
DigitalOcean
A 1-Click droplet with a TCP load balancer guide.
AWS
A CloudFormation stack, billed through AWS Marketplace.
The load balancer in front must pass raw TCP through: the edge reads each visitor's own TLS handshake, so nothing may terminate TLS before it.
Add-ons
Write your own
An add-on is a Composer package with a service provider. It can add pages to the sidebar and settings, panels to a domain, obstacles to the gym, columns to Activity, and say how long the visitor data it keeps should live.
Paid add-ons check a licence key, signed with Ed25519 and verified offline against our public key, then ask us once a day whether it is still good. If we can't be reached, the add-on keeps working.
